New Space Technologies s.r.o.

New Space Technologies s.r.o. (NST) is an established but still developing design office focused on comprehensive custom development and design for the defense industry, military and civilian special vehicles, and unmanned vehicles. The core of the NST team consists of experts in design, strength calculations, simulations, technology, and production preparation. It provides its customers with complete project and development support, from initial concepts, ergonomics, and design to structural designs (virtual 3D prototypes) and complete and detailed production and technical documentation. Another valued service is prototype production support, in which NST also participates by supplying structural components.

The company is also developing its development competencies on its own projects involving special vehicles and unmanned vehicles.

The most modern amphibious vehicle KALAN

At the PYROS 2025 trade fair, our company NST will present a major project: the KALAN amphibious tracked vehicle. It is a purely Czech project involving a new generation of amphibious vehicles for multipurpose or special civilian and military use.

KALAN – special equipment of the new generation for the crisis situations

KALAN is an amphibious tracked vehicle with exceptional off-road capabilities and full usability on water, developed in close cooperation with the Rescue Unit of the Fire Department of the Czech republic. It is designed with the needs of rescue units in mind, which face the greatest challenges in the form of floods, natural disasters, and logistical operations during evacuations, the transfer of rescue teams and equipment, and the transport of necessary materials and technology in extreme conditions.

Main uses of the KALAN

• Operational and effective evacuation of the population (up to 70 people) during floods and other natural disasters or crisis situations;
• Transport of rescue teams, materials, and equipment to hard-to-reach areas (payload up to 19,842 lb);
• Logistical support and cargo transport in extreme conditions.
• Emergency vehicle for firefighting and other interventions, e.g., extinguishing fires from a carried tank or even by directly pumping water from watercourses and surfaces, pumping out flooded areas and surfaces, and other interventions for which it can be adapted;

Key features of the KALAN

• Amphibiousness – Full deployment and use on land and in water
• Controllability and maneuverability – Advanced integration and interconnection of vehicle/vessel propulsion and control systems with a control system featuring intelligent and robust architecture.
• High off-road capability – Utilizing all the advantages of a tracked undercarriage.
• Load and capacity – Amphibious transporter for evacuating endangered people, injured persons, or emergency response units, rescue teams, or medical personnel, or for transporting cargo, humanitarian aid, medical equipment and supplies, containers, land vehicles, firefighting equipment, including tanks, and other special equipment, e.g., for large-capacity pumping of flooded areas.
• Variability – The platform is the basis for a whole range of multipurpose or special vehicles, adapted to specific purposes, including extended equipment and fittings. Depending on the requirements and needs of a specific deployment and necessary missions, the vehicle can be equipped with, for example, a winch and floor rollers, anchoring elements for loading cargo, containers and equipment, evacuation equipment, including handrails, benches or beds and roofing, or even firefighting equipment, including water and foam tanks (up to 2113,4 gal of water). The possibilities for adapting the vehicle and its equipment are unlimited and are governed only by user requirements.
• Safety – The vehicle's robust construction and modern systems provide the required high level of safety and protection for the crew, passengers, and cargo.

The world premiere of the unique Czech amphibious vehicle KALAN is deliberately timed to coincide with the PYROS 2025 trade fair. On this occasion, we plan to hold an official presentation of the vehicle and its ceremonial unveiling to the professional public.
