KALAN made its public debut at Vltava Day 2026 in Prague

Prague, March 23, 2026

New Space Technologies s.r.o. (NST) unveiled its KALAN amphibious tracked vehicle at the Vltava Day 2026 event, organized by the Vševltavský spolek in Prague. The presentation took place at the Hergetova cihelna site as part of a program for the general public, which offered visitors demonstrations of technology, a supporting program, and repeated dynamic displays on the Vltava River.

One of the highlights of the program was the dynamic demonstrations of the KALAN on the water, which took place repeatedly throughout the day and allowed visitors to see the vehicle directly in the environment for which it is being developed—namely, for deployment during floods, evacuations, logistical support, and movement in challenging terrain.

Special thanks go above all to the Fire Department of the Czech Republic, and in particular to the Rescue Unit of the Fire Department of the Czech Republic, which, together with partners and organizers, prepared a high-quality program and thus ensured the entire KALAN presentation on the Vltava River. NST greatly appreciates the professional cooperation, dedication, and the manner in which the entire public demonstration was prepared.

The event was also attended in person by Brigadier General David Kareš, commander of the Rescue Unit of the Fire Department of the Czech Republic, who oversaw the organization of this part of the program. The significance of the entire event was the visit of Lieutenant General Vladimír Vlček, Ph.D., MBA, Director General of the Fire Department of the Czech Republic.

“We are pleased to have had the opportunity to showcase KALAN in this conditions and to a wide audience. When equipment like this is demonstrated directly on the water and in a real-world, its purpose becomes immediately much clearer. We appreciate our collaboration with the Fire Department of the Czech Republic and the Rescue Unit of the Fire Department of the Czech Republic all the more, as they prepared a very strong program and elevated the entire presentation to a high level,” said Ivo Krill, CEO of NST.

The presentation of KALAN at Vltava Day was not only a demonstration of the vehicle itself, but also a confirmation that Czech development and engineering have much to offer in the field of special and rescue technology. For NST, participation in the event was also a valuable opportunity to showcase to both the general public and industry professionals technology that is created with a clear purpose and for real-world deployment.

KALAN is an amphibious tracked vehicle developed for operating in hard-to-reach terrain, on waterlogged ground, and on the water’s surface. Its use is primarily intended for areas where it is necessary to combine mobility, durability, and the ability to safely transport people or materials in challenging conditions.
