Ratíškovice, February 2025 — company New Space Technologies Ltd. (NST) forwarded Rescue Department of the Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic (ZÚ HZS ČR) firsts KALAN amphibious tracked vehicle, developed specifically for the needs of emergency services.

‍Brigadier General Ing. David Kareš, commander of the Hlučín Regional Fire Service of the Czech Republic, and his fellow firefighter-rescuers, personally took over the vehicle, which was headed to the Hlučín Regional Fire Service of the Czech Republic, where its capabilities in practical use will be verified.

First phase: Training and testing in Hlučín

After the transfer of KalaNa to Hlučín, the first phase will start immediately, in which firefighters receive theoretical and practical training to control, operate and operate the vehicle and carry out a basic verification of the vehicle's capabilities, including its performance and properties on land and in water.

As part of this phase, all operational aspects will be carefully evaluated with a focus on suitability for practical use in rescue operations.

NST ensures maximum support

Company NST really appreciates this collaboration. The NST team of technicians directly on site at the ZÚ HZS of the Czech Republic will thoroughly train the machinists of the fire brigade and carry out adjustment and adjustment of the vehicle. The NST team will continue to be fully available for technical support of the operation of the vehicle, including on-site at the fire brigade and for any modifications to the vehicle so that it is best prepared for full deployment.

Next steps and mission of KalaNa

Operational verification of the capability for rescue operations and the continued development of the KALAN vehicle to expand its capabilities to other and special tasks is a prerequisite for deploying KALAN vehicles as a necessary and functional part of rescue operations within the framework of HZS CR. The aim is to make the vehicle operational and efficient as soon as possible especially useful in floods, evacuations, transport of rescue teams and other critical situationswhere a combination of high terrain passability and amphibious mobility that no other technique can offer is advantageously exploited.

‍KALAN will be presented to professionals but also to the wider public at the prestigious international fire technology fair PYROS 2025which will take place within BY 2025 at the end of May. The presentation of the vehicle at the trade show will be a unique opportunity for fire and rescue professionals as well as fans of this prestigious profession and their technicians to get acquainted with the vehicle up close, to get an idea of the uniqueness and the vehicle and its real capabilities, and to discuss the possibilities of its future deployment.
